Millions of people go to church and say that they love God but,
Jesus said the way we show Him love is to obey His commandments.
Love is more than something you say, but it is an act.
You will never be more blessed than when you study and learn to obey God.

If you serve your flesh and its lustful desires, you are serving sin (or the devil),
which will lead to separation from God and eventually death.
If you obey God's Word and live it out, then you serve righteousness (or God),
which means you will inherit eternal life.
In order to have eternal life, you must be born again and learn how to please God.

Our flesh will get us into trouble every time we entertain in.
Our flesh represents the selfish lustful desires that we often encounter.
To mortify means to kill those desires that do not please God.
This simply put means to say no, in spite of how you may feel, to ungodliness.
Just say NO!

Your thought life will help your speech life and your speech life will then produce life!

"Give Up Your Past Life and Receive Eternal Life!"
Jesus is telling us that we have to tell ourselves "no" to worldly things and
"yes" to His Word and to His perfect will.
This is the only way to hold on to eternal life and a plentiful life here on earth.
Lose the way you would live your life to the way God would have you live it.
Jesus likens it to the cross that He had to carry except He will help you carry it.
Remember the cross He gives you is light compared to the weight of living in sin.
Remember also that He will be there to help you do the work that He gave you to do!
This is the only plan that makes you a winner here and in the hereafter!
